How Did I Get Into Reflexology?

My journey into Reflexology began while training as a Registered General Nurse in Cork. I witnessed Reflexology being used to assist women whose labour wasn’t progressing and was fascinated by the connection between the feet and the body's natural healing processes. That led me to a postgraduate course, which soon became my life's work. More than 30 years later, I remain passionate about helping people improve their wellbeing through Reflexology and various complementary therapies.

What Makes Me Passionate About Teaching Others?

Having experienced many first-hand positive impacts of Reflexology on people's lives and having worked at the training school where I qualified, that had me assisting on training courses soon after qualifying, I knew straight away I loved the teaching side of Reflexology. I love hearing the stories of my students with the fantastic results they get from their case studies during the course. Teaching allows me to pass on both practical skills and professional standards, helping students build confidence and develop rewarding careers in complementary health.

What Is My Approach as a Tutor?

As a tutor, I combine my nursing background with over three decades of clinical practical experience in complementary therapies. I believe learning should be supportive, engaging and empowering. Alongside anatomy, physiology and professional practice, students are introduced to Eastern energy principles, encouraging a deeper understanding of the connection between body, mind and spirit. My goal is to help every student develop the knowledge, confidence and practical skills needed to become a competent and compassionate therapist.

"I would recommend Mary’s course to anyone thinking about Reflexology. Mary was very knowledgeable in all areas of holistic health and had a lovely, gentle way of teaching while building your confidence throughout the course. I looked forward to every class and left each one having learnt more and feeling very relaxed from practising treatments with other students.
